CHAPTER 01

Getting started

The place, the people, and what you want to change.

01What should I prepare before contacting RENOVA?

Start with the property location, a short description of your goals, and a few photos or references. Existing plans, your investment priorities, and any important dates are also helpful. Separate the must-haves from the nice-to-haves.

02Do I need complete drawings to begin?

No. You can start with an idea or bring plans already in progress. Tell us which design professionals are involved and what has already been decided.

03Which RENOVA service is right for my project?

That depends on what you want to build or change and how much design or coordination you need. RENOVA offers renovations, additions, custom homes, commercial construction, design–build, general contracting, and construction management.

CHAPTER 02

Scope & budget

Give the estimate something clear to respond to.

04How is a project budget developed?

The work involved, existing conditions, project size, and material choices all matter. Begin by defining the scope and ranking your priorities; a useful estimate needs the specifics of your property and project.

05What should I clarify when reviewing a proposal?

Ask what is included, what is excluded, which selections remain open, and what assumptions were used. Discuss how proposed changes will be documented and agreed. Keep those answers with the proposal so everyone is reviewing the same scope.

06Can RENOVA help with materials and finishes?

Yes. Material sourcing and finish selections are part of RENOVA's published offering. Discuss the items you need, what you may already have, and who will select, order, and receive them.

CHAPTER 03

Timing & everyday life

Plan for the project and for life around it.

07How long will my project take?

Duration is specific to the scope. Design development, approvals, material availability, existing conditions, and changes can affect the sequence. Discuss your important dates early and distinguish a preferred date from an agreed project schedule.

08Can I live or work in the property during construction?

That must be assessed for your project. Discuss the areas affected, safe access, noise, dust, service interruptions, and whether the work can be separated from occupied spaces. Do not assume the property will remain usable throughout construction.

09What decisions are useful before work begins?

Clarify the scope, responsibilities, access arrangements, and the selections needed for upcoming work. Ask which decisions have the greatest effect on ordering and sequencing, and keep an agreed list of what remains open.

CHAPTER 04

Approvals & completion

Make the responsibilities clear from the beginning.

010Who coordinates the permits?

RENOVA's published process includes permitting coordination. Confirm the responsibilities and required documentation for your particular scope before construction begins. Reviews and approvals are determined by the authorities responsible for the property.

011How do I find out which approvals my property needs?

Requirements depend on the location and proposed work. Ask the local building department about your scope, and raise any condominium or homeowners association requirements with the project team. For a Delray Beach property, the city's Building Division is the official starting point.

012What should we review at the end of the project?

Discuss the walkthrough, any remaining completion items, and the documents or care information relevant to the work. Agree who is responsible for outstanding items and how they will be followed up.

FROM “WHAT IF?” TO “WHAT’S NEXT?”

Bring the idea.
We’ll talk it through.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
These three things make a useful beginning.

  1. 01

    Your place.

The location, a few photos, and any plans you already have.

  2. 02

    Your priorities.

What you want to change, what you love, and what matters most.

  3. 03

    Your practicalities.

Investment priorities, important dates, and who is already involved.

These answers are starting points. Estimates, schedules, and approval requirements depend on your property, scope, and project agreement.

THE NEXT QUESTION IS YOURS.
